Modi Launches Development Projects Across Four States

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day tour spanning Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, launching and inaugurating development projects.The initiatives aim to boost infrastructure, connectivity, and economic growth in these regions.

Despite weather challenges preventing a physical visit to Sikkim, the Prime Minister addressed the state virtually, emphasizing its progress and future potential.

The government has planned activities celebrating Sikkim's culture, nature, and history under the theme “Sunaulo, Samriddha and Samarth Sikkim.” Modi also laid foundation stones and opened several development projects in Sikkim, including a new 500-bed hospital in Namchi worth over ₹750 crore, a passenger ropeway in Gyalshing district, and a statue of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Gangtok district.He also released a commemorative coin and stamp to mark the 50 years of Sikkim's statehood.

• Key Insight 2: West Bengal's Gas Distribution Project In West Bengal, Modi laid the foundation stone for a City Gas Distribution project in Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts, worth over ₹1,010 crore.This project aims to provide piped natural gas to over 2.5 lakh households and establish 19 CNG stations for vehicles.

The CGD project in Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts, worth over Rs 1010 crore, aims to provide Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to more than 2.5 Lakh households, over 100 commercial establishments and industries besides providing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to vehicular traffic by establishing around 19 CNG stations in line with the Minimum Work Program (MWP) targets stipulated by the Government.This is a significant step to increase gas connectivity across the region.

• Key Insight 3: Bihar's Infrastructure Boost The Prime Minister inaugurated the new terminal building at Patna Airport, built at a cost of around ₹1200 crore and capable of handling 1 crore passengers annually.He also laid the foundation stone for a new civil enclave at Bihta Airport, projected to cost over ₹1410 crore.
  
  These projects are designed to modernize air connectivity and support the growing educational hub near Patna.
