Books on Discipline and Self-Control
There are two schools here and they do not agree. One says discipline is a capacity you build. The other says willpower is a poor tool and the answer is to arrange your life so you need less of it. Both are represented below, because you will need both.
The disagreement matters more than it looks. If you believe discipline is purely a capacity, every failure is a character verdict. If you believe it is partly a design problem, failure is information about the design.
Eight books, each condensed into a guide you can read in about 15 minutes.

-
Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones
James ClearThe clearest expression of the opposing view. Stop relying on the moment of decision and change the environment so the decision never comes up.
